What a career. He will always be remembered for one of the greatest losses in the sport, the second place finish to Greg Lemond at the 1989 Tour de France. But, that should not overshadow his many victories, including Tour wins in 1983 and 1984, the 1989 Giro, and Milan-San Remo in 1988 and 1989. Wikipedia has a list of his victories, I am sure other places do as well. When on form, he was an amazing rider.
