Last night in the Village...

The community tree lighting and other holiday festivities the first Friday of December is one of the busier nights of the year in Claremont's Village core. If you drive into the area you can end up circling around blocks looking for a parking spot. So it was refreshing to see all the people riding their bikes in the Village streets last night, the various bike racks being fully used, and with street lights, trees and other immobile objects being used as secure overflow parking for bikes.

The Gypsy Sisters, and their Brothers had some interesting and creative art for show and sale in the Packing House, and will be there the rest of the weekend.

Finally, as you are riding around, stop by the Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Garden; Sunday is their Winter Holiday Open House, with entertainment, refreshments and sales in the Garden Shop. The extensive walking trails through the native habitat should be alive with winter color.
