Jaysus, the ride to Potato Mountain just does not get any easier, like so many rides do the more times you do them. The ride up Burbank Canyon in the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park, and then along the Palmer-Evey is one thing, but that final push up to the summit extends this ride into the realm of "beyond category". Stop for a minute on the last section to catch your breath, and you will end up hoofing it for the remainder of the climb. The views though are something else, and make the effort all worthwhile.

and there is downtown Los Angeles
there was this odd little memorial up top on that big concrete thing; maybe a vestige of last months Veterans Day. i thought it kind of strange, the flags being stuck into potatoes at first; and then i remembered, Potato Mountain, of course, what else would you use.
I love riding Potato. Makes me feel like I really can do something. I try to get up at least every couple of weeks. Of course riding the Turkey Ride from home made for a 40 mile loop. Now that was a blast... at least once I got to Baldy Village. Rode in snow for about the 4 miles on the North Side.
