My Generation: Hendrik Redant...

I like reading about riders from my generation, guys who have put their riding time into the peloton, but still possess a passion for the sport and a desire to keep giving, to guide a new generation. Belgian Hendrik Redant is one such person; after hanging up his cleats, Redant served as Director at the Lotto team, the team where Cadel Evans took two second place Tour de France finishes.

It has been announced that Redant will join the American UnitedHealthcare team as their new European Director, beginning at the upcoming USA Pro Cycling Challenge in Colorado. He will also help guide the team during their European campaign next year. Redant had a respectable career as a professional racer, which included wins two years straight in Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, at Paris-Tours, and general classification in the Tour de l'Oise, among a plethora of other stage and one-day race wins. Redant and his wealth of experience will no doubt be welcome and useful at the young UHC team.
