I noticed this brief at CDM Cyclist; about a couple weeks old now, but still good. In the US, cyclists, planners, transportation officials, etc, debate round and round the subject of how to get people out of their cars. One of the arguments that pops up time and again is the idea of making driving (especially all those little errands within a few miles of home) more inconvenient, more expensive. Anyway, that is the gist of this story and quote:
"We would never synchronize green lights for cars ... I can't get used to the idea that I am worth less than a car".
